1. Many TV programs are broadcast in 1080i. At the size screen you’re talking about, you will see a poorer picture if the 1080i has to be downgraded to 720P.
2. Blu Ray, HD DVD and some games are 1080P. Again, with this size screen, you don’t want to downgrade the picture to 720P.
