philips plasma tv issues
Dish DVR 522 remote 2 will not function when my plasma tv is on. Controls the non plasma tv, but not DVR!!?
The remote works fine, all DVR functions 100%, when the plasma is OFF. Please help, this issue defeats the purpose of having a dual tuner DVR. I’m afraid if I call Dish, they will say call Philips and vice versa.
I am fully aware of the sat/tv buttons, I’ve been using DISH products for 10 years and I am, not professional, but tech savvy. I am certain the remote is set to work correctly, which is does, but only when the plasma is off. I’m using a UHF remote, not IR in this case. I cannot move the TV, we have it mounted to the wall. The receiver really needs to stay in the same area, I can move it up or down slightly but that’s all. I have adjusted the UHF antenna with no avail, and it doesn’t appear to be damaged in any way (like I said it works while the plasma is off). I’ve tested the remote within 1-2 feet from the antenna with no luck. I’ve tried attaching the attenuator (Dish supplied) with the same negative result.
I assume you press “sat” first before you want to control the DVR? (or do you forget you are in “TV” mode?)
Does it work if you get closer to the DVR? If yes, then looks like your TV interfers with the IR. Maybe you can move the DVR to a bit further away.
