Lcd Tv Monitor Drivers

Do TV monitors add to mouse latency?
i have my sager 8660 notebook hooked up though HDMI (the problem persists through DVI too) to my Samsung LN-S2641D Television and set to dual view. When i move my mouse around on the LCD tv screen, i notice the mouse is significantly slower to respond to my gestures compared to moving it on my notebook screen. If i plan to use it with gaming, should i get a normal computer monitor instead to avoid latency, or is there a problem with my current setup that causes this delay? I’ve also tried HDMI to a sony bravia and i get the same latency. I’ve got the latest drivers for my nvidia 9800m gt.
in other words, would a standard computer monitor have less delay and therefore be better suited for gaming?
Not as such. Its more a case that some TVs delay *everything* by a second or so, including incoming TV signals. This is why Guitar Hero has a calibration feature to cope with this.
Its not that all TVs add a delay, but your particular one does.
