Did Canon just whup Nikon’s butt?
Canon has just introduced the Digital Rebel XSi (450D), having:
– more megapixels than its predecessor
– larger viewfinder
– live view
– bigger LCD screen
Nikon countered with the D60, having:
– same size processor as D40X
– same screen
– dust cleaner
– obscure image tweaks the target audience won’t understand
Looks like Nikon rolled something out just to have something to roll out.
I’d say it’s a definite TKO for Canon.
What say you?
I think not, especially having a 22MP pro DSLR that just got it’s butt whupped by Nikon’s new D3 (with a 12MP sensor of the same size with greater pixel density). I guess that’s why many pro canon users are now selling their canon 1Ds MkIII’s only to wait 3-6 months to get a nikon D3.
That and the canon 40D couldn’t compete in a market of morons with the nikon D300. I can’t help it if the thing is better, nevermind preference. It simply outperforms.
Yeah, that’s a whuppin alright. It may just be more economically feasible to target the prosumer market with an entry level DSLR in hopes of recouping their pro marketshare with nikon.
Then again, a tool has its purpose…
