Plasma TV vs an LED Tv?

I recently asked a question regarding plasma vs LCD. (Side note: So sorry, i was going to award a person a best answer but i was to late, it had already gone to voting)
Anyway, i have officially ruled out LCD since LED is actually an IMPROVED version of LCD.
There is so much love for plasma, but ive gone window shopping. LED seems to pop up much more than plasma. Plasma does have amazing contrast, but its lighting seems to be much less than LED.
Im looking for a 55-60 inch television.
Main use is really gaming and high quality movies. I like to spoil myself.
Does anyone know which would be better? LED are more expensive, but i dont really mind if thats the only reason people prefer plasma.
The LED tv i was planning to get was Samsung 55″ 2000k contrast ratio.
Not to sure what i’d get if i was considering plasma
Thank you very very much!

The first thing you need to know is that LED’s look much better in the store than they do in your home. The retail stores put LED’s under excessive lighting conditions which enhances the LED picture. It will not look the same in your home under normal lighting.

LED is a new technology and functions poorly as a gaming TV. Plasma’s are the top choice for gaming due to 1. Higher refresh rates to display fast moving images effectively 2. Deep black levels and broad color ranges 3. They are the most affordable technology which allows more of your budget to go where it should be and that’s towards gaming itself.

As far as the Plasma TV brand you should do alot of research and choose a model that fits your exact needs.
